1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing the Ancestria platform, you accept without reservation these Terms of Service. ancestria.org.If you do not accept these terms, you must not use the platform.

2. Description of Service

Ancestria is a digital genealogy platform enabling users to:

• ✦Create and manage interactive family trees
• ✦Store and organize documents, photos, and family memories
• ✦Collaborate with other family members
• ✦Use artificial intelligence tools to enrich family narratives
• ✦Map ancestors' migrations and movements

3. Account Creation

To use Ancestria, you must create an account by providing accurate and up-to-date information. You are responsible for the confidentiality of your login credentials.

Two types of accounts exist: tree creators (administrators) and invited members. Invited members join an existing tree via an invitation link and do not automatically create a new tree.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• ✗Publish false or misleading information about people
• ✗Share illegal, hateful, or discriminatory content
• ✗Use the platform for unauthorized commercial purposes
• ✗Attempt to access other users' data without authorization
• ✗Use bots or automated scripts to access the service

5. Intellectual Property

Content you publish on Ancestria (texts, photos, documents) remains your property. By publishing them, you grant Ancestria a limited, non-exclusive license to display them within the service. Ancestria claims no ownership rights over your data.

6. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your settings. Ancestria reserves the right to suspend or terminate an account in case of violation of these Terms. Your data can be exported before deletion from the "Export" section of the dashboard.

7. Limitation of Liability

Ancestria shall not be held liable for data loss resulting from user actions, nor for inaccurate content published by users. The service is provided "as is" without guarantee of permanent availability. [To be completed per legal advice]

8. Applicable Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. For users residing in the European Union, mandatory provisions of your country of residence remain applicable.
